The Montana State University M is located at the mouth of the Bridger Canyon on the south flanks of Baldy Mountain. It was created by MSU students in 1915. The M is a 250 foot whitewashed rock. The total elevation gain to the ridge above the M was about 2050 feet from the parking lot.
